Had a very enjoyable day today in Cheshire doing some NOTAN design work. Good company!
On Thursday I am going to a meeting/course so I started to get my things ready that I needed and something just got me thinking and I decided to make some stripy paper based on my Estonian costume photographs.
The one 5×7 that I wasnt looking forward to doing was the one to be titled Arches so I thought it would be a good idea to get that one done soon and leave the memories and travel ones to the end.
Here it is based on a photograph that I took on our way down through France – south of Royan and North of Cap Ferrat.
I [painted some of it first, then stitched it, then added more paint
I had to put my bike on in the corner to remind me of our trip
Here’s my new journal Quilt.
I spent a week at the beginning of September following my son down through France to Spain. The Journal Quilt had to have a button on it, so I have stitched 8 very small buttons on my quilt, along the route showing the places that we stayed. The first 4 of the year had to have a circle and the next 4 some text. I thought it would be fun to include a circle, some text and a button!
It is painted on to calico and stitched, actually I stitched it first and painted it second.
Have just returned from cycling from the north of Franve to Spain – over 1000kms and am now thinking about my next piece of work.
It will be the Sept/Oct Journal Quilt.
I am hoping to do one with a cycling theme and have an idea to do one – following the spots and I have spent a week cycling behind my son in his spotty cycling top.
