New Thermofax screens

My new screen arrived this morning and I have had a little play just to see what they are like. I am going to use them for my next Journal and Voyage quilt.

They are based on Indian textiles patterns.

My last Kindle case is now almost finished, now I just need to write up the details of my new workshopsIMG_1011IMG_1012

New Quilt

Last year I made some smaller pieces, based on my visit to Bethlehem, for a challenge. and have used these samples to make a larger quilt. I’m not sure as yet where it will be displayed and whether it will be entered in to a competition.

It is only the beginning and I dont have a carefully drawn out plan of action as yet, I will see how it develops

New Blog

I am at last beginning to get the hang of how to use my blog but no body seems to know that I have a new blog and not many people are looking at it.

I have almost finished doing all the sampling and making of all the things for a new workshop Indian Inspirations

Here are some photos of the Indian pieces and the mostly finished pieces

Croatian textiles

The Voyage group that I belong to have a new challenge for 2013, this time our pieces need to be A3 size and a new piece produced every 2 months. The theme is similar to that of the  Contemporary Quilt Group and again must be in a series. I have made my first piece based on the Croatian textiles that i saw in the museum in Zabreb last August, i havent decided yet whether to make them all based on ethnic textiles or just my travels. i shall see how things go. I have a few good teaching trips planned and a few holidays so we shall see.

I dyed some woollen fabric and used a variety of different techniques to make this piece. I loved searching through all my boxes to find the right beads, buttons and bits of ric rac briad.
