I have so much to do as i am going to Quilt Expo on Tuesday to exhibit there that I decided I had better get on with April’s Journal Quilt.
It isn’t finished yet – it needs an edge, some white paint on the flowers and a title.
Last weekend I went cycling in Holland, our plan was to go to see the tulips but it has been so cold that the only tulips we saw were in the pavilions. We also saw some spectacular gerberas in the pavilions.
There were some fields full of daffodils in flower, and the sky was the colour below although it was cold. This is made entirely by reverse applique. I drew it on a piece of interfacing on the back and stitched it from the reverse then cut it using a small pair of scissors – very fiddly but quick to do.
Now I just need to add a few finishing touches to make it fit with the rest of the years’s journal quilts
