Work Experience

Over the last 15/20 years I have taught virtually every embroidery, patchwork, quilting and appliqué technique and have taught City and Guilds

I have also taught Design skills for many years and enjoy teaching colour, shape, line, form and texture.

  • Nov 2007 – Work with Schools. Working with various schools in Calderdale providing specialist textile teaching
  • Jan 2007 – Freelance Teaching Teaching and mentoring a weekly group of experienced textile Artists – 9CRE8
  • April 2007 – Sept 08 Creative Skills. An independent provider of City and Guilds Creative Studies Courses and non vocationaltaster and master classes in a range of subjects stitched textiles, millinery, fashion and furnishings.

I find now that I regularly return to my favourite sources of inspiration, all about colour and pattern. I enjoy the challenge of working in 3D.

My Studio

I have a well equipped studio

  • textile equipment eg rotary cutters, cutting boards etc

  • a library of textiles and art books
  • kitchen area and sink

Exhibitions and Prizes

For several years between 2002 and 2007 I concentrated on my teaching work and enjoyed the success of my students. Since becoming a self- employed teacher I have started exhibiting and entering competitions again.
